Within this context, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen the data team.

The Senior Data Engineer gathers data from various sources and turns it into clear, integrated information ready for analytics and AI use. He/She delivers robust, well‑documented data products aligned with internal customer expectations, from requirements analysis to solution deployment. He/She also plays an active role in implementing and maintaining the data platform, ensuring that data always remains available and accessible.

 

Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer will work under the guidance of the Data & BI Coordinator. He will join a hybrid (Liège/Porto) and dynamic data team composed of three Data Engineers and two Data Analysts. He/She will contribute to maintaining and enhancing our data platform while adhering to established development standards.


His/her role will be to : 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Data owners, reports owners, data stewards) to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop data models, data pipelines, and data transformation processes within Microsoft Fabric and DBT.
  • Contribute to build new AI agents
  • Optimize and tune data processes for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Deploy new pipelines into production (DevOps CICD, ...).
  • Contribute to the definition of state-of-the-art data architecture in Azure.
  • Implement and maintain robust security solutions to protect data assets.
  • Ensure that all relevant technical and functional documentation is up to date.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues related to data infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Act as a referent for other data engineers.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering in Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Certification DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate is a plus.
  • Certification DP-700: Fabric Data Engineer Associate is a plus.

Technical skills :

  • Must have
    • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
    • Proficiency with Data Engineering within Azure.
    • Solid experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and lakehouse.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL and Python/PySpark.
  • Could have
    • Knowledge in AI engineering (e.g. RAG, LLM, Machine learning, ...)
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and DBT
    • Power BI
  • Nice to have
    • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 (Customer Engagement and Finance & Operations)
    • Experience working with 0365, Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps and UML diagrams/BPMN annotations will ease the onboarding.
    • SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
