Scope

The R&D Robotics Engineer contributes to the successful execution, integration, and delivery of TMotion Media Production Robotics solutions within the EVS ecosystem by engaging in all phases of development, including analysis, architecture, design, implementation, testing, validation, documentation, and maintenance, within a self organized Cross functional Dev & QA team. 

The role covers the complete technical project lifecycle, ensuring that robotic–software integrations meet EVS standards of quality, reliability, performance, and scalability, while producing high-level designs and interface definitions aligned with market and system requirements.

Job Description

  • Define, design, and develop advanced robotics control and integration solutions, spanning software components, motion control, and real‑time execution. 
  • Understand user stories and decompose them into clear technical tasks across software, motion, and interface layers, ensuring traceability to system and market requirements.  
  • Develop automated tests with a test‑driven mindset, strengthening reliability and performance for real‑time robotics scenarios and interfaces.  
  • Troubleshoot customer issues with Support, performing expert root‑cause analysis across robotic, embedded, and EVS platform components during complex deployments.  
  • Continuously improve development workflows and tools, embracing Agile practices, automated testing, and robust documentation—to elevate quality and delivery speed.  
  • Coach and mentor colleagues within a self‑organized cross‑functional Dev & QA team, promoting best practices in architecture, testing, and documentation.
     

Profile

Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field. 

Technical Skills 

  • Background in software development, with the ability to design and integrate complex robotic systems across software, motion control, and real-time execution layers. 
  • Solid knowledge of C++. 
  • Experience with brushless servo motor systems, including specification (torque/speed/load), drive selection, PID tuning, feedback setup, and precision motion optimization. 
  • Knowledge of PLCs, including programming using Ladder, Function Charts. 
  • Experience with ELMO motion controllers (Maestro, Gold/Twitter series) and automation workflows is a strong asset. 
  • Ability to read, understand, and design electrical circuits (high & low voltage, sensors, actuators, safety chains). 
  • Knowledge and compliance with European safety and electrical standards (EN/IEC) and system level functional & regulatory requirements. 
  • Ability to apply 3D math foundations, including: 
  • Projection matrices 
  • Projective geometry 
  • Coordinate transformations 
  • Direct/inverse kinematics

  • Quickly understands a technical domain and its complexity. 
  • Capability to have clear and efficient communication as well as the development of a deep mutual understanding to efficiently work as a team across different countries/timezones.
