Scope

As a member of the Corporate Operations Team, the Head of Direct Procurement is responsible for defining and executing EVS’s global direct procurement strategy for materials used in production and customer deliveries.

This role ensures supply continuity, cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation, while partnering closely with R&D, Production, Planning, and Logistics to support EVS’s growth and operational resilience. 

Job Description

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define, own and execute the global Direct Procurement strategy, aligned with EVS’s business objectives and product roadmap.
  • Build long term demand forecasts and translate into robust sourcing and capacity plans to support production and customer commitments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Direct Procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Own sourcing of electronic components, IT hardware, servers, boards, chassis, and related technologies.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers, ensuring quality, competitiveness, and long term partnerships. Having experience with Electronics Manufacturing Services is certainly advantageous.
  • Drive supplier performance management (cost, quality, delivery, risk, sustainability).
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, allocation, and contractual terms.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the five R&D centers and three production sites, leveraging a global perspective.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure availability of components to support plan to produce processes.
  • Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks (shortages, EOL components, geopolitical or capacity constraints).
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics to ensure smooth end to end execution.
  • Own procurement-related business process and master data  and drive MRP effectiveness.
  • Ensure transparency regarding long-term objectives and offer recommendations to the Leadership Team for securing necessary materials.

Cost & Risk Management

  • Drive year over year cost reduction initiatives and as well lead specific product margin improvement projects.
  • Reduce single source dependencies and improve supply resilience.
  • Actively manage component lifecycle, obsolescence, and redesign impact in collaboration with R&D.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  •  Act as a business partner to R&D, Product Management, Production, Finance, and Quality.
  • Lead ESG and sustainable supply chain initiatives in direct procurement.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Mimum 10–15 years of experience in direct procurement within a product focused B2B high tech, electronics, IT, or hardware manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing direct procurement or sourcing teams.
  • Strong background in sourcing electronic components and IT systems (servers, boards, semiconductors, hardware platforms).
  • Experience operating in global supply chains with complex supplier ecosystems.

Hard & Soft Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial mindset.
  • Deep understanding of electronics supply markets, lead times, allocation models, and lifecycle risks.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels with international exposure.
  • Structured, data‑driven, analytical and comfortable with ambiguity in fast‑moving environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Languages

  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of French, Dutch or any other language is an asset.
